Overthinking, characterized by excessive rumination on past regrets and future anxieties, can significantly impact mental well-being, leading to sleep disturbances, increased stress, and difficulties in decision-making. Root causes often stem from perfectionism, a desire for control, low confidence, past negative events, and the pervasive influence of social media. To manage this tendency, individuals can employ techniques such as practicing mindfulness, journaling thoughts, asking clarifying questions, engaging in present-moment awareness activities, taking decisive action, and implementing digital detox periods. Shifting the mind from problem amplification to problem-solving, coupled with self-trust and consistent practice, is essential for regaining mental peace and fully experiencing life's moments.
